Biography

Dr. Preetam Modak is a researcher specializing in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, and Neuroscience, with strong academic training and multidisciplinary research experience across premier institutes including the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), Bengaluru, and the National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar.

His work spans neurodegeneration, disease biology, molecular modelling, epigenetics, immunogenomics, and experimental therapeutics, with hands-on expertise in both wet-lab and computational domains. Dr. Modak has contributed to significant projects involving Alzheimer’s disease models (Drosophila), atopic dermatitis, TNBS-induced colitis, depression models, and leukemogenesis in Down’s syndrome.

He has authored peer-reviewed publications in reputed journals and presented his work at national and international conferences. Dr. Modak is also the recipient of the prestigious IASC-INSA-NASI Summer Research Fellowship (2025) and has qualified several national competitive examinations including GATE, JAM, GATB, and CSIR-NET.
